What We Do

CENet delivers a wide range of programs and services aimed at strengthening the caregiving ecosystem across Africa:

  • Support to Member Organizations
We provide technical assistance, resources, and coordination support to caregiver organizations to enhance their operations and impact.
  • Quarterly Africa-Wide Webinars
We convene caregivers, researchers, and policymakers to discuss emerging issues, share knowledge, and co-create solutions.
  • Free Counselling Services
In partnership with institutions of higher learning, we offer free mental health support to caregivers experiencing stress, burnout, and emotional strain.
  • Policy Advocacy
We engage with government bodies, parliaments, and international institutions to promote inclusive laws and social protection policies for caregivers.
  • Information Sharing
CENet produces accessible, evidence-based information for caregivers and stakeholders to improve caregiving practices and awareness.
  • Facilitating Networking
We create platforms where caregiving institutions and individuals can collaborate, advocate, and build solidarity across borders.

Our Vision

A world where every family caregiver receives the support, care, and empowerment needed to lead a healthy and fulfilling life

Our Mission

Our mission is to be the voice of family caregivers across Africa, advocating for their recognition and well-being through evidence-based policy engagement and strategic networking

At the heart of CENet’s work are the family and unpaid caregivers—individuals, primarily women, who provide full-time care to family or community members with:
  • Chronic Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs)
  • Physical or mental disabilities
  • Elderly or age-related degenerative conditions
  • Long-term illnesses such as HIV/AIDS or TB
These caregivers often receive no formal training, financial compensation, or social recognition, despite the immense socio-economic, physical, and emotional burden they carry. CENet exists to make their invisible labor visible, valuable, and protected.
